Dogs in the mire
Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool returns to his folly. (Peter referred to this Proverb by using it in reference to backsliders who go back into sin [II Pet. 2:22]. This shows that Peter was a student of the Proverbs.) 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true Proverb (Prov. 26:11), The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (This completely refutes the Unscriptural Doctrine of Unconditional Security, and gives the reason — a departure from Christ and the Cross.)
