FORGIVENESS

FORGIVENESS

Have you been hurt by someone?

Have you hatred in your heart?

Do you have forgiveness issues?

If your answer is yes? Then please continue reading.

May God guide your heart, as we read through the Word of God about forgiveness.

God Bless.

Ephesians 4:32 And be you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another (be quick to forgive), even as God for Christ’s sake has forgiven you. (Christ’s forgiveness of us is to always be the basis of our forgiveness of others.)

Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men (it must be the God kind of forgiveness) their trespasses (large sins), your Heavenly Father will also forgive you (forgiveness rests totally on the Atoning Work of Christ; it is an act of sheer Grace): 15 But if you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses (if we want God to forgive us, we must at the same time forgive others; if not, His forgiveness for us is withheld; consequently, such a person is in jeopardy of losing their soul).

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins (pertains to acts of sin, whatever they might be; the sinner is to believe [Jn. 3:16]; the Saint is to confess), He (the Lord) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins (God will always be true to His Own Nature and Promises, keeping Faith with Himself and with man), and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (“All,”not some. All sin was remitted, paid for, and put away on the basis of the satisfaction offered for the demands of God’s Holy Law, which sinners broke, when the Lord Jesus died on the Cross.)

Matthew 18:21-22 Then came Peter to Him, and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? (One of the most important questions asked by any Disciple.) 22 Jesus said unto him, I say not unto you, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven (there must be unlimited forgiveness [Lk. 17:4]).

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another (refers to being quick to admit fault, if such be the case), and pray one for another, that you may be healed. (The Holy Spirit, through James, broadens the aspect of prayer for the sick as applicable to any Believer.) The effectual fervent prayer of a Righteous man avails much (from any “Righteous man,” Preacher or otherwise; “Righteousness” pertains to the fact that the Faith of the individual is strictly in Christ and the Cross, and not in other things).

Luke 6:26-27 But I say unto you which hear (refers to the fact that many refuse to hear), Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you (begins the most revolutionary lifestyle ever known in the history of man; no religion in the world can remotely compare with this; for instance, compare this with the religion of Islam), 28 Bless them who curse you (speak well of), and pray for them which despitefully use you (pray that they will see God’s Way).

This next verse is refurring to Motives which is the heart and not fruit. We are to judge fruit, keep this Truth in your mind and heart. Please continue reading.

Luke 6:37 Judge not (do not judge one’s motives), and you shall not be judged (implying that you will be judged by the Lord, if you do not obey this admonition): condemn not (do not pass sentence), and you shall not be condemned (meaning conversely, that if you pass sentence on others, the Lord will ultimately pass sentence on you): forgive, and you shall be forgiven (implying that if you do not forgive, God will not forgive you, which puts a person in a terrible dilemma):

Colossians 3:13 Forbearing one another (exhibiting patience), and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do you.

Psalms 103:10-14 He has not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. (This is the reason God takes a stern attitude toward Believers who will not show mercy nor be quick to forgive. He expects us to conduct ourselves toward others as He has conducted Himself toward us.) 11 For as the Heaven is high above the Earth, so great is His Mercy toward them who fear Him. (This refers to unlimited Mercy, but with a condition. The condition is that we “fear Him.”If we do, there will be less iniquities.) 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. (This is equivalent to “blotting out our sins”[Acts 3:19; Isa. 43:25; 44:22]. It is impossible to bring the east and the west together; so it is impossible to bring the forgiven sinner and his forgiven sins together. This Divine fact gives to those who believe it a peace which nothing can destroy.) 13 Like as a father pities his children, so the LORD pities them who fear Him (as a result, He has great Mercy on us). 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (God remembers what man forgets [our infirmities]; man remembers what God forgets [our sins].)

1 Corinthians 10:13 There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man (refers to the limitations God has placed upon Satan respecting that which he can or cannot do): but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able (we have His Promise; all temptation is overcome by our Faith remaining constant in Christ and the Cross, which gives the Power of the Holy Spirit to help us [Rom. 8:2]); but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it. (As stated, the “way of escape” is always the Cross [Eph. 6:10-18].)

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins. (Those who love to stir up the failing of others, while hiding their own, show that their hearts are filled with “hatred.”)

If you cannot forgive for the wrong that others have done to you? God then, cannot forgive you and your soul is in jeopardy of hell fire in that case.

You need to forgive others for your soul sake and not for theirs.
