Book of Galatians Chpt 5 (Bondage) Part 5
[Note to Blog Readers: Expositor’s Notes in Bold Italic Font]

There are so much corruptions going on in the Church world today. Their congregations are being mislead by false doctrines of many devils. Most Churches are putting their Faiths in something other than the Cross and Him Crucified, instead most of them are putting their Faith in Water Baptism, for the means of Salvation and making Baptism the Object of their Faith. This is Dangerous and will lead, not just themselves, but the listeners and believers of this false doctrine, to hell as well. Salvation is through Jesus Christ, the Cross and Him Crucified. Not all Churches are Saved, like as they claim. Keep a watchful eye out for false doctrine, you will know them by their fruits. Any Church, any person who hangs onto Law and not Grace of God, will remain in “Bondage” of sin and will not make it to Heaven. You need to make the Cross the Object of your Faith, and do not make Water Baptism the Object of your Faith, it will destroy your soul. Lets get started in with what the Word of God has to say about this.

Galatians 5:1-26 (KJV)
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free (we were made free, and refers to freedom to live a Holy life by evidencing Faith in Christ and the Cross), and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (To abandon the Cross and go under Law of any kind guarantees Bondage once again to the sin nature.) 2 Behold (“mark my words!”), I Paul say unto you (presents the Apostle’s authority regarding the Message he brings), that if you be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (If the Believer goes back into Law, and Law of any kind, what Christ did at the Cross on our behalf will profit us nothing. One cannot have it two ways.) 3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised (some of the Galatian Gentiles were being pressured by false teachers to embrace the Law of Moses, which meant they would have to forsake Christ and the Cross, for it’s not possible to wed the two; as well, it’s not possible to wed any Law to Grace), that he is a debtor to do the whole law (which of course is impossible; and besides, the Law contained no Salvation). 4 Christ is become of no effect unto you (this is a chilling statement, and refers to anyone who makes anything other than Christ and the Cross the Object of his Faith), whosoever of you are justified by the law (seek to be justified by the Law); you are fallen from grace (fallen from the position of Grace, which means the Believer is trusting in something other than the Cross; it actually means, “to apostatize”). 5 For we through the Spirit (the Holy Spirit works exclusively within the parameters of the Sacrifice of Christ; consequently, He demands that we place our Faith exclusively in the Cross of Christ) wait for the hope of righteousness (which is guaranteed to ultimately come [Rom. 6:14]) by faith (refers to Faith in Christ and what He did for us at the Cross). 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision avails anything, nor uncircumcision (has no spiritual bearing on anything); but faith which works by love. (The evidence of true Faith is the fact of the Love which emanates from such Faith.) 7 You did run well (under the Ministry of Paul, the Galatians had begun well); who did hinder you that you should not obey the truth? (Paul is referring to false teachers who were attempting to pull the Galatians away from the Cross to other things.) 8 This persuasion comes not of him (the Holy Spirit) that calls you. (What you are doing is not Biblical!) 9 A little leaven (corruption) leaveneth (corrupts) the whole lump. (The introduction of a small amount of false doctrine will ultimately consume the entirety of the belief system.) 10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that you will be none otherwise minded (that the Galatians would not abandon the Cross for this is false doctrine): but he that troubles you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be. (Judgment will ultimately come on those who attempt to present a way of Salvation other than Christ and the Cross.) 11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? (Any message other than the Cross draws little opposition.) then is the offence of the cross ceased. (The Cross offends the world and most of the Church. So if the preacher ceases to preach the Cross as the Only way of Salvation and Victory, then opposition and persecution will cease. But so will Salvation!) 12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you. (They might cease from the land, but unfortunately false teachers seem to ever plague the landscape.) 13 For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty (liberty from the Law, and to live a Holy life); only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh (because you are living under Grace, do not think sin is inconsequential), but by love serve one another. (This is Paul’s constant concern. How will you use your freedom? How will you live your new life?) 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this (presents the Apostle telling us how the Law is fulfilled in our lives); You shall love your neighbour as yourself. (In this, the whole Law stands fully obeyed. This can be done and, in fact, will be done, providing the Believer ever makes the Cross of Christ the Object of his Faith. Accordingly, the Holy Spirit will then provide the power for us to do what we should do.) 15 But if you bite and devour one another (which will be done if the Believer seeks to live under Law), take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. (If Love absent, this tells us that the Cross is absent. Fighting and quarreling always follow the Law.) 16 This I say then, Walk (order your behavior) in the Spirit (we do so by placing our Faith exclusively in Christ and the Cross, through which the Spirit works exclusively [Rom. 8:1-2]), and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (This proves the existence of the sin nature in the Believer. It declares the consciousness of corrupt desires. As stated, the only way to not fulfill the lust of the flesh is for our Faith to be placed exclusively in the Cross.) 17 For the flesh (in this case, evil desires) lusteth against the Spirit (is the opposite of the Holy Spirit), and the Spirit against the flesh (it is the Holy Spirit Alone, Who can subdue the flesh; He does so as we have repeatedly stated, by our Faith being placed exclusively in the Cross): and these are contrary the one to the other (these two can never harmonize; as Paul has stated, the old nature must be cast out, which the Holy Spirit Alone can do): so that you cannot do the things that you would. (Without the Holy Spirit, Who works by the Cross, the Believer cannot live a Holy life.) 18 But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law. (One cannot follow the Spirit and the Law at the same time, but regrettably that’s what most modern Christians are attempting to do. Unless one properly understands the Cross as it regards Sanctification, one cannot be properly “led of the Spirit,” Who works exclusively within the framework of the Finished Work of Christ.) 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these (if one attempts to function by means of Law of any nature, the “works of the flesh” will be manifested in one’s life); Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like (if one is walking after the flesh [Rom. 8:1], one or more of these sins will manifest themselves in one’s life; the only way, and I mean the only, one can walk in perpetual Victory is to understand that everything we receive from God comes to us by means of the Cross; consequently, the Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith; this being the case, the Holy Spirit, Who works exclusively within the confines of the Sacrifice of Christ, will exert His mighty Power on our behalf, which will enable us to live a Holy life): of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past (refers to the fact that the Apostle was not afraid to name specific sins), that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (This tells us in no uncertain terms that if our Faith is not everlastingly in Christ and the Cross, we simply won’t make it. God doesn’t have two ways of Salvation and Victory, only one, and that is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.”) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit (are not “fruits” but rather “Fruit”; they are to be looked at as a “whole,” which means they grow equally) is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Against such there doesn’t need to be a Law. But let the Reader understand that this “Fruit” is of the “Holy Spirit,” and not of man. It can only develop as we are “led of the Spirit.” And we can only be led by the Spirit by making the Cross the Object of our Faith.) 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (This can be done only by the Believer understanding it was carried out by Christ at the Cross, and our being “Baptized into His Death” [Rom. 6:3-5]. That being the case, and as repeatedly stated, the Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith, which alone will bring about will bring about these results.) 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit (“walk” refers to our lifestyle; this Passage declares both life and Holiness to be the Work of the Holy Spirit; He operates Salvation and He operates Sanctification; both are realized on the Principle of Faith, and that refers to the Cross ever being the Object of our Faith; many know they have received Spiritual Life, as it regards Salvation through Faith, but they think they can only secure Sanctification by works; this is a great error; it never brings victory; believing in Christ and the Cross for Sanctification, as well as for Justification, introduces one into a life of power and victory, which is the only way it can be accomplished.). 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory (which is a sign that one is functioning according to Law), provoking one another (self-righteousness), envying one another. (These are works of the flesh, and will manifest themselves if our Faith is in things other than the Cross.)

Romans 6:14 (KJV)
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you (the sin nature will not have dominion over us if we as Believers continue to exercise Faith in the Cross of Christ; otherwise, the sin nature most definitely will have dominion over the Believer): for you are not under the law (means that if we try to live this life by any type of law, no matter how good that law might be in It's own right, we will conclude by the sin nature having dominion over us), but under grace (the Grace of God flows to the Believer on an unending basis only as long as the Believer exercises Faith in Christ and what He did at the Cross; Grace is merely the Goodness of God exercised by and through the Holy Spirit, and given to undeserving Saints).

Romans 8:1-2 (KJV)
1 There is therefore now no conversation (guilt) to them which are in Christ Jesus (refers back to Rom. 6:3-5 and our being baptized into His Death, which speaks of the Crucifixion), who walk not after the flesh (depending on one's personal strength and ability or great religious efforts in order to overcome sin), but after the Spirit (the Holy Spirit works exclusively within the legal confines of the Finished Work of Christ; our Faith in that Finished Work, i.e., “the Cross,” guarantees the help of the Holy Spirit, which guarantees Victory). 2 For the law (that which we are about to give is a Law of God, devised by the Godhead in eternity past [1 Pet. 1:18-20]; this Law, in fact, is “God’s Prescribed Order of Victory”) of the Spirit (Holy Spirit, i.e., “the way the Spirit works”) of life (all life comes from Christ, but through the Holy Spirit [Jn. 16:13-14]) in Christ Jesus (any time Paul uses this term or one of its derivatives, he is, without fail, referring to what Christ did at the Cross, which makes this “life” possible) hath made me free (given me total Victory) from the law of sin and death (these are the two most powerful Laws in the Universe; the “Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus” alone is stronger than the “Law of Sin and Death”; this means that if the Believer attempts to live for God by any manner other than Faith in Christ and the Cross, he is doomed for failure).

1 Peter 1:18-20 (KJV)
18 Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold (presents the fact that the most precious commodities [silver and gold] could not redeem fallen man), from your vain conversation (vain lifestyle) received by tradition from your fathers (speaks of original sin that is passed on from father to child at conception); 19 But with the precious blood of Christ (presents the payment, which proclaims the poured out Life of Christ on behalf of the sinners), as of a lamb without blemish and without spot (speaks of the lambs offered as substitutes in the Old Jewish economy; the Death of Christ was not an execution or assassination, but rather a Sacrifice; the Offering of Himself presented a Perfect Sacrifice, for He was Perfect in Every Respect [ex12:5]): 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world (refers to the fact that God,in His Omniscience, knew He would create man, man would fall, and man would be redeemed by Christ going to the Cross; this was all done before the Universe was created; this means the Cross of Christ is the Foundation Doctrine of all Doctrine, referring to the fact that all Doctrine must be built upon that Foundation, or else it is specious), but was manifest in these last times for you (refers to the invisible God Who, in the Person of the Son, was made visible to human eyesight by assuming a human body and human limitations),

John 16:13-14 (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come (which He did on the Day of Pentecost), he will guide you into all truth (if our Faith is properly placed in Christ and the Cross, the Holy Spirit can then bring forth Truth to us; He doesn’t guide into some truth, but rather “all Truth”): for he shall not speak of himself (tells us not only What He does, but Whom He represents); but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak (doesn’t refer to lack of knowledge, for the Holy Spirit is God, rather He will proclaim the Work of Christ Only): and he will show you things to come (pertains to the New Covenant, which would shortly be given). 14 He shall glorify me (will portray Christ and what Christ did at the Cross for dying humanity): for he shall receive of mine (the benefits of the Cross), and shall show it unto you (which He did, when He gave these Great Truths to the Apostle Paul [Rom., Chpts. 6-8, etc.])

Romans 6:3-5 (KJV)
3 Know you not, that so many of us as were into Jesus Christ (plainly says that this Baptism is into Christ and Not Water [1 Cor. 1:17; 12:13; Gal. 3:27; Eph. 4:5; Col. 2:11-13]) were baptized into his death? (When Christ died on the Cross, in the Mind of God, we died with Him; in other words, He became our Substitute, and our identification with Him in His Death gives us all the benefits for which He died; the idea is that He did it all for us!) 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death (not only did we die with Him, but we were buried with Him as well, which means that all the sins and transgressions of the past were buried; when they put Him in the Tomb, they put all our sins into the Tomb as well): that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (we died with Him, we were buried with him, and His Resurrection was our Resurrection to a “Newness of Life”). 5 For if we have been planted together (with Christ) in the likeness of his death (Paul proclaims the Cross as the Instrument through which all Blessings come; consequently, the Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith, which gives the Holy Spirit latitude to work within our lives), we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection (we can have the “likeness of His Resurrection,” i .e., “live this Resurrection Life,” only as long as we understand the “likeness of His Death,” which refers to the Cross as the Means by which all of this is done):

1 Corinthians 1:17 (KJV)
For Christ sent me not to baptize (presents to us a Cardinal Truth), but to preach the gospel (the manner in which one may be Saved from sin): not with wisdom of words (intellectualism is not the Gospel), lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. (This tells us in no uncertain terms that the Cross of Christ must always be the emphasis of the Message.)

1 Corinthians 12:13 (KJV)
For by one Spirit (the Holy Spirit alone does this) are we all baptized into one body (at Salvation, the Holy Spirit Baptizes the Believing sinner into the Body of Christ, which is the Born-Again experience; it doesn’t refer to Water Baptism), whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free (all must come in the same manner, “by and through Jesus Christ and what He did at the Cross”); and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (The Holy Spirit is the agent Who affects the work of Redemption carried out in our lives, which is made possible by the Death, Burial, Resurrection, Ascension, and Exaltation of Christ.)

Galatians 3:27 (KJV)
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ (refers to the Baptism into His Death and Calvary [Rom. 6:3-5]; the reference is not to Water Baptism) have put on Christ (means to be clothed with Him [Jn. 14:20]).

Ephesians 4:5 (KJV)
One Lord (Jesus Christ), one faith (what He did at the Cross), one baptism (our Salvation, referring to Believers Baptized into Christ, which was done at the Cross; it has nothing to do with Water Baptism [Rom. 6:3-5]),

Colossians 2:11-13 (KJV)
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands (that which is brought about by the Cross [Rom. 6:3-5]), in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ (refers to the old carnal nature that is defeated by the Believer placing his Faith totally in the Cross, which gives the Holy Spirit latitude to work): 12 Buried with him in baptism (does not refer to Water Baptism, but rather to the Believer baptized into the death of Christ, which refers to the Crucifixion and Christ as our substitute [Rom. 6:3-4]), wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. (This does not refer to our future physical Resurrection, but to that spiritual Resurrection from a sinful state into Divine Life. We died with Him [Rom. 6:3-5], and herein lies the secret to all Spiritual Victory.) 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh (speaks of spiritual death [i.e., “separation from God”], which sin does!), hath he quickened together with him (refers to being made spiritually alive, which is done through being “Born-Again”), having forgiven you all trespasses (the Cross made it possible for all manner of sins to be forgiven and taken away);

Have you changed your Faith away from "Bondage" of sin or are you still living by Law and not by Grace of God? Any person who is living under Law and not living by living under Grace, is in grave danger. As we close out in prayer, I am truly praying that you are taking this to heart and not lightly. God wants you to come to an understanding of His Truth. God's Truth, is the only thing that can set you free and become no longer in "Bondage", of sin, my friends. If you would like to be set free from "Bondage" and become reborn again and be Saved and make it to Heaven? Then accept Jesus Christ into your hearts, come as you are and allow the Holy Ghost of God, transform your life from within your hearts. The "Bondage", of your smoking habits, your "Bondage" of your alcoholic problems, your "Bondage" of cussing, your "Bondage" of drug addictions, your "Bondage" of worries, your "Bondage" of pornagrophy, your "Bondage of any kind of other abuses, all of your "Bondages", you can get free of them and become reborn again, with a bran new life style, brand new thinking and life. You can be Saved from all, if you give them all to God and turn away from the filth. This does for listening to false doctrine. One last thing to bring to your attention, if your listening to false doctrines, from false prophets? you then are supporting their false teachings and their wicked old ways of satan. If your are Saved, you then need to do what is right, follow the example of Jesus Christ and walk away from their programmings. Any person who is living in the "Bondage" lies, are not Saved. Lets Pray.
