FOLLOW GOD'S WILL AND NOT YOUR WILL Bible Study.

As we go through this lesson today, I pray and hope that you all will follow along, all the way, from be-gaining to end. I believe that this will change your life. Life is a gift and a blessing to you from God. God is the land Lord of the temple that you are living in and you are not your own. This life your living is not your life at all, if you disobey God in any part of the life you are living, it will be put in punishment by God at the end of your life. Yes, God is a loving and forgiving God and He does not want to see anyone perrish in hell at all.

Many people say that we are not perfect and never will be, if your one of those people? I will show you how it is possible to be perfect, just as He is perfect. That is part of God's Will for your life. If you are living to drink and getting drunk, you have failed God and that alcohal, of any kind, that is your God, unless you repent to the real God, your creator, and turn away from it and never do it again. Same thing for smoking, that is not God's Will for your life, to many of you, any type of smoking is your God and will destroy you eternally. Same thing for taking drugs and getting high, that is not God's Will for your life, that may be your God as well. Maybe its gambling of any kind, that is not God's Will for your life and that maybe your God and it will destroy you eternally. Maybe its sleeping around, any sin and lust maybe your God, that too will destroy you in hell. I know these things are hard to listen too, but, it has to be told, in hopes to bring you all back to Christ and in hopes of repentance and closer to God.

Further away from God you go, the more closer you are going to end in hell. God is only a prayer away, if you do not ask God, you will not receive. To become perfect in God's sight, you must deny yourself,  confessing and giving all of your sins to God, by laying them at the foot of the Cross of Jesus Christ, walk away from your sins and never going back to them. After repenting and confessing your sins to God and walking away from them, you need to follow it by getting baptized by water immersion, so you can be baptized by the Holy spirit and forgiven, your sins then will be erased, this means that your old self is gone, meaning that you then have no past and sin free.

This gives you the right to start a brand new life with God, through Jesus Christ. This also means, that you have no right to sin any longer and must do your best by not going back to sin. What about those have repented and already got baptized and went back to their sinful ways of living? Then their baptism was a counterfeit and a lie to God. This tells me and God that their hearts were not right and that they did not truely have Godly sorrow when they got baptized. When God placed us here in His image, he created us to live a Godly life, to serve Him and Him alone and not to please ourselves. Many people, yes, even so called Christians, the reason why I said that is because many Christians are counterfeits, which is no Christian at all, many of them praise God with a false heart of worship to God. They talk a good talk, but they don't walk the talk, another words, they say a good speach of praise to God on Sunday's, then rest of the week they live on by sinning the rest of the week. They smoke, drink and get drunk, they use foul language in every conversation, they sleep around, they do everything else like what the world has to offer. Friends, if your going to do your will instead of God's Will, that may keep you from going to heaven. Heed the call of this warning. You can't serve God and satan, if you are? it will be hell to pay.

Luke 6:46-49

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? 47 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Can we really know God's will?

Yes we can, but first we must decide which type of Bible reader we are. There are those who have already reached their conclusions and are searching for scriptures (and religious groups) to prove their case and cause, and those who just want to know what the Bible actually states.

The Need to be Humble before God and Man

According to Proverbs 3:34: The True God opposes all those who are proud, and shows favor to those who are humble.

Proverbs 18:12 states: "Before his ruin man's heart is proud, and just before glory it is humbled". So, pride is a bad thing in the eyes of God and we should all

work at being humble in order to find His favor.

For Proverbs 15:33 tells us: "The fear of God is instruction and wisdom, and heeding it is the sum of all glory...and the humble will be led to this glory".

God's will for mankind...

The person who wants to know about God's will needs to first clear their mind of all preconceived notions on the subject. We will need to have an open attitude about what the Word of God actually states concerning the will of God. The instruction manual that the Almighty has given us (the Bible) outlines the important issues that God wants us to understand about His will and plan. There will be a few questions along the way and hopefully this article will answer most of them. Unfortunately, there will be questions that just can't be answered. This fact should not discourage us. There are issues that God just doesn't want us to know about at this time.

Prayer

The most important tool we have to understanding God's will (besides the word of God) is prayer. The Almighty promises to answer all our prayers,

(Matthew 21:21-22) but we must truly seek God's will and obey what we learn.

We need to realize that the answer to our prayers could be "no" or “not at this time” depending on what is requested. God loves us,

but in many instances is displeased with our actions. Seeking God's will can help us to overcome the actions that displeases the Great creator and then we

can be blessed with answered prayers

In the beginning....

There is much confusion about when the beginning happened. Many claim that the beginning happened about 6000 thousand years ago and others state that

the beginning happened millions of years ago! Who is correct? Well, maybe both groups are right...The book of John outlines one of these beginnings:

John 1:1-5

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

We need to understand that God exists in a realm of His own. As far as we can understand, no other beings exist in this realm. God then creates the spiritual realm. This realm will eventually be the abode of all the celestial beings (angels). But because God is invisible (His realm encompasses all other realm), He brings into existence the “Visible Image of Himself” (Logos). This image will now create and interact with the celestial beings (The Greek word logos is often rightly translated as word. However, logos implies a greater meaning than that; it means the expression of a thought.

So, as God spoke, everything came into existence by means of the Visible Image of God). The spirit realm is now the abode to God's image (Logos) and billions of spirit beings, who were created with life-inherent (not needing substances to exist). These beings were also given free choice. God created a vast physical realm for these spirit beings to enjoy and beautify.  Unfortunately, one of these beings (Lucifer or Satan) was not satisfied with his position in this realm and rebelled. He began the process of governmental overthrow and convinced a third of the created beings to follow him! (Revelation 12:4) They refuse to obey God and to enjoy and beautify their assigned physical realm. This portion of the universe becomes chaotic and in decay. We need to fully understand that these beings who rebelled against God's will can not be put out of their misery. They will forever be in rebellion! They can not change, only if God decides to destroy them will their misery end. This rebellion ended the process of further spirit beings (angels) coming into existence. The circumstances that have occurred must have been extremely disappointing to God. A third of the created beings are now in misery and decay for eternity! How sad this is... God decides to take a different approach to creating spiritual beings. (we realize this concept may be difficult to accept, but it seems to be biblical)

Genesis 1:2-3

2 Now the earth was[a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Here is a new beginning. God restarts the process of creating spiritual beings (God's will), but quite different from the first. The newly created beings will still have free choice, but not life-inherent. These beings are given a limited amount of time to accept the will of God.

Those who refuse are destroyed!

Man's Rebellion against God

Most know the story about Adam and Eve. These beings were created in the image of God, but what most don't realize is that this image (whatever is was) changed when man (male and female) rebelled against God's will. The results are the images we reflect today (body and attitude or soul).

A note to look at: The word image in Genesis 1:26 doesn't necessarily mean a likeness in appearance (though it can mean that).

God is spirit and we just don't know what appearance a spiritual being has! God gave the created beings (man and animal) the five senses (sight, taste, touch, smell and hearing), but only man was given "intelligence through God's Breath" (Spirit) that was breathed into him. (Genesis 2:7)

The word image could also refer to a resemblance (in nature). God is the possessor of superior intelligence to His creation, just as man has superior intelligence

over the animal kingdom and this just might be what the writer of Genesis intended to portray.

Genesis 3:8-11

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” 10 He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” 11 And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

The human beings (Adam and Eve) rejected God's will (don't eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil) and the results were devastating to all human beings, even the nature of the animal kingdom changed! The great adversary of God ( Lucifer or Satan ) thought that he had successfully ended the will of God for human beings, but this really was just the beginning...

God realized that the human being could rebel and made provisions for that occurrence.

Those who wanted to be part of God's Kingdom would be saved from eternal death by accepting His Son's gift to mankind.

Grace would be given to those who obeyed the will of God. Those who reject God's will also would be saved,

but they are saved from the misery of rebellion to God! They are put out of their misery and just cease to exist...Hopefully, these individuals will be few.

Thousands of years have passed since man's first rebellion against God's will and man has continued on this path of destruction:

Matthew 24:32-39

32 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33 Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it[d] is near, right at the door. 34 I tell you the truth, this generation[e] will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

The Day and Hour Unknown

36 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,[f] but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. So, for those who want to be part of the Kingdom of God, we will need to accept God's will ( there is no other way ).

God's instructions about His will

God wants all human beings to come to repentance

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

John 6:35-40

35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. 38 For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. 39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. 40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Side note to look at: As we study the words of Jesus, we need to be careful that the references we use are actually the words of Jesus and not the thoughts of a translator. Give thanks for all things.

Final Instructions

1 Thessalonians 5:12-18

12 Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13 Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14 And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15 Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 16 Be joyful always; 17 pray continually; 18 give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not be conformed to this world and its ways.

Romans 12:2

2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Rules for Christian Households

Family

Matthew 19:4-6

4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”

Husbands;

Ephesians 5:25

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.

Colossians 3:19

19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.

Wives

Colossians 3:18

18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

You children.

Colossians 3:20-21

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.

Side note: The word submit has been misunderstood by most men. It does not mean that everything a man would want a woman to do, she must do! The intend of the Greek word would be to change an unGodly course or to be realigned with God. It does not give men complete authority over women!

Ephesians 6:1-4

6 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[a] 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Flee from sexual immorality

Romans 1:24-27

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Do not worry about life

Matthew 6:25-34

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]? 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Study the Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:12-17

12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, 15 and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Last side note: As we study the Bible we need to be aware that men have added or subtracted from these writings!

We need to be careful in accepting thoughts or writings that are not from God. We need to be aware that we have a great adversary who is trying to deceive us in our quest to obey God. There is a new year that is about to come, 2013. There is a reason why we have weird weather going on. Jesus Christ is about to return and take His faithful people home, before the total destruction's. You need to get your house in order for His return, the house that I and the Bible speaks of is the temple that God gave you to live in. If you haven't accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and have not been baptized by water immersion, so you can be baptized by the Holy Spirit and to be truly forgiven of your past and to gain God's free gift of eternal Life in heaven, then I want to encourage you to find a solid Bible based Church and start serving our awesome God and get Baptized. If you can't find one, then by all means, get a hold of me and I will be gladly to walk you through the proper steps and baptize you, in the name of the Father, the Son and in the Holy Spirit. Get on the Lord side today, today might be your only chance.
